Every unmarked work vehicle in your fleet is a paid media channel broadcasting nothing. It drives your service area all day, parks in front of customers' houses, sits in traffic beside your exact demographic β and says nothing. Fleet branding is the cheapest impressions in advertising, and unlike ads, you stop paying after week one.
The impression math
Industry studies have long put a single branded vehicle's visibility in the range of 30,000β70,000 daily impressions in metro driving. Be skeptical and cut that in half β a work truck still delivers hundreds of thousands of views a month. Amortize a $3,500 wrap over a 5-year life and you're paying roughly $58/month for a channel that never pauses, never gets skipped, and reaches exactly the neighborhoods you serve.
What actually belongs on a work vehicle
- Who you are β company name and logo, big enough to read at 40 mph. (That's ~6" letters minimum. Most vehicles get this wrong.)
- What you do β three words, not a paragraph: "Plumbing Β· Drains Β· Water Heaters."
- One way to reach you β one phone number OR one web address. Two contacts halve the recall of both.
- Trust markers β license number where required, "Licensed & Insured," years in business.
Everything else β the service list, the slogan, the mascot's backstory β costs legibility. The drive-by test is brutal: a viewer gets three seconds. See the design mistakes guide; every rule applies double at highway speed.
Levels of fleet branding
- Lettering package ($350β$900/vehicle) β name, numbers, license. The minimum viable brand.
- Partial wrap ($1,500β$3,500) β color-blocked zones + lettering. Reads like a wrap at a distance.
- Full wrap ($2,500β$6,500) β the rolling billboard. Best cost-per-impression of the three over its lifetime.

Rolling it across a fleet
Consistency is the whole trick β five trucks with matching branding read like a company; five trucks with five looks read like a rummage sale. Build one design system (colors, layout, letter sizes), templated per vehicle type. New hire vehicle? The kit already exists. GraphicsWest holds your fleet art on file so unit #6 matches unit #1 β even a year later. When you're ready, start with one vehicle and scale on the same template.
